People figuring out the system is not that sophisticated...


eg, it never occured to someone that they might NOT want to send their real telephone number. So now the telephone system needs a way to check that people use their real number in able to make a call.

It does occur to me though that maybe the prolfieration of "area codes" that no longer really come from any particular place might be the problem. If I have my VA cell phone that I now use in MD they're not going to stop me from using it even though it might look like I'm a Marylander spoofing a VA number. ie a all from Maryland w/a Virgina area code so yeah, maybe they opened up the system to allow for that. more false positve hits than true positive (bad) hits.
