Kind of wonder about Maryland though


Was leaving the ACC really a good decision.

Just thinking about the money for the athletic department, it only seems as though they have gotten a loan to pay for the exit fee, and a loan to help with the athletic department debt from the money that they are getting from the B1G. They are getting the same payout that they got when they left the ACC, not the current ACC payout, and will be paying out those loans over the next few years meaning that when they are eligible for full payouts, they will still be getting less money than the other B1G schools, and maybe even less than they would have in the ACC.

Yes, they would be in a bad financial situation if they were still in the ACC, but maybe they needed to go on an austerity program instead of just kicking the can down the road on the credit cards.
