They are doing better than if they stayed in the Big East/AAC


The AAC negotiated a new deal with ESPN after Rutgers, Pitt, Syracuse and WVU left, and they ended up with less money in the contract than before.

So, if Rutgers had stayed in the AAC, they would be bringing in even less money without any hope of a big bump in the future.
