One of the things I found interesting was when the Colonel (Powers Boothe)

described what had happened... the invasion basically made it up from Mexico through Texas all the way to Kansas City. I think he also said something about coming through Alaska, but I may be remembering that wrong. The more I watch shows about Alaska, the more I'm convinced any invasion through there would go absolutely nowhere. In winter it's too cold and everything (everyone) freezes up, and in summer, heavy equipment churns up permafrost and gets bogged down.

As for getting all the way to Kansas City from Mexico? I don't see it. Eisenhower had the Interstate Highway System built specifically so that the military could move men and material quickly across the country. Not to mention we'd still control the rail system behind the front.

Throw into the mix that, statically speaking, 1 in every 3 Americans is armed. Remember September 12, 2001? How quickly we all came together? Our differences would mean squat in the event of an invasion. There are 100 million armed civilians in addition to our regular military who would wreak havoc on any attempted invasion of this country. NOBODY on this planet wants to take a chance on invading the U.S. It's just not going to happen. Not as long as the Second Amendment is a thing. And that's not going anywhere anytime soon.
