Interesting thing hit me when you posted the date

Think about the difference between that point in time and the end of these Cold War.

We still viewed ourselves as the underdog. A few years into rebuilding our military and economy after the Carter debacle that movie showed us as what we felt we were, second to the Soviets, that we would have to fight a guerilla war if we were invaded.

Amazing looking back how much BS the soviet machine turned out to be. An attack launched against us was more likely to kill their own people than its intended target.
