Our Golden / Great Pyrenees mix had a small growth that caused him to have

a seizure. He was 12 years old at the time, and was a big dog. Big dogs usually don't live much past 10 in the first place. The vet told us there was a place in Norwalk that did do Doggy Chemo, but it really ended up being a quality of life AND a cost decision. I know many of us will do anything for our pets, but the idea of spending $10,000 treating a dog for cancer, having him be sick and miserable for months, and even if the treatment is 100% successful, you still have an old dog that's 2 years past it's life expectancy and likely to pass soon anyway.

Within one month the small growth had become a large mass and it was time to say goodbye.
