Why in the world would you plan a family vacation in Oman?

I've been there, and if sand thrills you, then go for it. For all of the countries I've visited in the middle east, Oman seemed the most boring.

If you're going to that part of the world, why not the UAE???? At least they have a bunch of attractions such as in-door snow skiing, F1 racetrack, gold souk, etc.

Oman has sand and camels.
