CC route is what I did in the 80s; the danger there is transferring credits


I was all over that at NVCC, to the point that the TWO NVCC guidance counselors I used made jokes about how often I was seeing them to make sure my NVCC credits would transfer. Almost all of the credits transferred to VT, but a good chunk transferred as electives, not as the class I took, because I didn't need, say, a full year of psych. So when I did get to VT, I could take a grand total of 2 electives, and I had to take class overloads almost every quarter (mostly 18 credits/6 classes, one time 21/7) to graduate within 2 more years.

Anyway, it's not about not having money. It's about maximizing what we have saved and picking the best choice for our kids.
