It’s fantastic that so many people care enough to get involved


Canvassing is one way that a person can keep the election on the mind of potential voters. Sadly, only about 35 -40% of registered voters cast a ballot in off-year and mid-term elections. Analytics show that, while it does turn off a certain percentage of potential voters, it does, overall, increase turnout in that candidate’s favor.

Political canvassing is protected by law. No soliciting signs do not prohibit someone from visiting your door to campaign. Despite that, I usually honor the generally understood sentiment of the signs by not knocking on those doors. Also, I do not, as a rule, visit houses with no trespassing signs. People who display such signs worry me.

Tuesday is the most important election in many years, perhaps my lifetime. The direction of our country is at stake.
