That's an interesting data point

It looks like the Wolfpack Open is operated by the Wolfpack Wrestling Club, which does not appear to be officially affiliated with NC State (although the event takes place on NC State's campus). In contrast, the Hokie Open appears to be operated by VT wrestling or SERTC, both of which are, of course, officially affiliated with VT.

So we'd probably have to relinquish control of the Hokie Open to a third party to sidestep the rights issue with ESPN. I suspect Coach Robie considered that option and decided that the benefits of maintaining control of the event outweigh the drawbacks.
