I am not sure how the Landshark ties with the Rebels nickname

Also, I am little surprised the Ole Miss decided to go with the Landshark mascot given that Tony Fein died of an accidental drug overdose in 2009. Maybe Ole Miss plans to use the mascot to help promote drug abuse awareness or something like that. At least I can hope that something good can come from Ole Miss's choice of a bizarre mascot.

If Ole Miss is determined to keep Rebels as the nickname, then I am kinda surprised they didn't opt for a horse mascot. At least I think there have been quite a few horses over the years containing "Rebel" in the name. Personally I thought Ole Miss should have came up with a new nickname if it was going to change the mascot.
