yeah, as HokieNoVa said, he started the whole Landshark defense thing and doing the shark fin sign on his head after a big play - the defense took it up and it became their persona....now supposedly other sports teams as Ol Miss do the shark fin sign..... but still.... it seems very specific to football. One report liking the new mascot said it attaches to the "tradition"...well...it's kind of a new "tradition"....and not really attached to the overall long-term university and sports traditions. But what do I know -- I didn't go there (Capt Obvious! :) ) At least seems like a different portrayal/caricature of the "Landshark" might be better -- that thing is just creepy!
