They do, but the distance is very difficult to overcome.

The team or two on the eastern end of that would grow to hate it quickly. I hear complaints by WVU fans having to do that, and someone in central time zone travelling to pacific time zone would hate it even more being two time zones away.

What the PAC12 needs is to have games they play at 12:30 or 1:00 PDT to be aired in the East. They would be at 3:30 or 4:00 EDT. But the ACC, SEC, and B1G have those blocked on ABC, CBS, ESPN, and Fox. Notre Dame has it blocked on NBC for seven weeks. The PAC12 should cut a deal with NBC for the weeks Notre Dame isn't on.

For expansion targets the PAC12 has a lot of room to add presence in the Mountain West areas (Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Colorado). And we've discussed San Diego as well. What they wanted before is Texas, but when they looked at it before Deloss Dodds saw the peril in three time zones.
