I was thinking about 150-155

Rokie08 is probably about right. M Moore's probably 145 out of season if he's trying to keep it close, but even 155 wouldn't be a big deal.

Most people don't want to talk about it too much, but most of the D1 wrestlers - unless they are competing freestyle during the summer - could walk back into the wrestling room in late August weighing a lot more than you might imagine. They can drop 10 lbs in a week no problem with as hard as they workout – if we are just talking about extra fat they added while enjoying time off.

Guys dropping 20-30 lbs in the first couple months of the semester is really common. (Does anyone honestly think ZZ is under 210 in the offseason?)

Consider an elite 165 wrestler. You basically have a young man who would be a very athletic/trim person at 175 lbs, wrestling at an artificially stripped down 165, and maybe letting himself migrate up to 185-190 in the off-season. Losing those first 15 lazy pounds from the off months is not hard: losing the last 10 that brings him down to the artificially thin wrestling weight is when it gets tough.

Seesawing too much during the season is not healthy and can sap a wrestlers energy, but dropping 20 lbs or more at the beginning of the training season is no big deal for these guys. Joey Dance was known to drop a ton of weight (30+) every September and October.

So if Moore walked in as high as 155, the first 15 lbs are going to fly off; then he has to work hard on the last 7, and he has weeks to do it.
