I had the same thoughts as well.

I am (or should it be "was" now?) a big fan, even have the first three compendiums.

I'm looking forward to reading the next compendium.

I'm not looking forward to the show nearly as much. It's not that they've strayed so much from the source, it's that the latest shows just aren't very compelling and lack any kind of momentum. I've been pretty much let down since the introduction of Negan. Great character introduction, but pretty ho-hum since.

Like you, I also ditched the Talking Dead. I found myself fast forwarding through most of it and only finding one or two bits (if any at all) interesting
