Last image of Starman, and questions for you space nerds...


The accompanying article says this is the last pic of the car and "driver". Why? Why not continue to send photos for some time as various probes have?

Second, the article says scientists expect the car to be "torn to pieces" by radiation within a year? Why is that when we have things that have been zipping through the solar system for decades?
