ACC Allocations for NCAAT - VT Analysis for Winning Percentage ....
As discussed previously, to be eligible to achieve an ACC allocation, a wrestler must meet the thresholds for 2 out of the 3 criteria as follows (criteria can be adjusted if more than 29 wrestlers at specific weights meet this criteria):
Criteria #1: At least a 70% winning percentage (I ready this in an Open Mat article)
Criteria #2: In the RPI top 30 (must have wrestled 17 matches in the current wrestler weight class)
Criteria #3: In the Coaches Panel Rankings Top 30
The following VT wrestlers do not meet the required 70% to meet Criteria #1, thus, they will have to be in the Top 30 in both of the other criteria:
125: Kyle Norstrem, at 50% and can't get to 70%
141: Brent Moore , at 68% and will have to win his last 2 matches and one includes Kevin Jack.
157: Solomon Chishko at 62% and BC Laprade at 55%, neither will get to 70%
174: Hunter Bolen at 65% and can't get to 70%
285: Andrew Dunn at 64% and can't get to 70%
I guess some of the above could wrestle in an open tournament but I doubt that is likely at this point in the season and they would probably have to win the tournament.
The following have clinched the 70% threshold and only need to be in one of the other two Top 30 lists and are almost sure shots to get an allocation:
133: Dennis Gustafson, sitting at 75%
141: Ryan Blees at 79% overall but 93% at 141.
165: David McFadden at 100%
184: ZZ at 86%
197: Jared Haught at 92%
I think Moore and Bolen have excellent shots at being in the Top 30 in RPI and coaches panel and Dunn has a decent chance.
Those other lists should be out by end of this week. Will update then.
