Great to hear, Thankful. I saw this post below, but I'm glad you reposted it here. You are absolutely correct about the UM thing -- unfortunately, nationwide people think of Michigan (or Missouri) as UM, so that remains only a S. FL. thing, or among fellow alums.

That's why we chose the "U" when we were branding the university in the 1970's. Many people think it is meant to be arrogant, when in reality we were afraid that we wouldn't stand out as yet another "UM".

Who knew back then that the "U" would grow to become one of the most recognizable university brands. You see it all over S. FL. today -- in particular with respect to UHealth, the University of Miami Health System.
