Aside from the loss, we had a great time!

The Canes' performance gave the crowd a good reason to stay riled up. We had no issues w jerks. We were in Sec 122. We had a good time and were glad to represent the Hokies.

We tailgated w close friends whose children both went to Miami. They got to the stadium at 2:00 and said there were 100 or so cars in line waiting. They don't have numbered parking spaces. You buy a pass for a certain lot and it's first come, first served for each lot. We were 20 spots from the stadium. He said they usually show up 1/2 an hour before the lots open and there might be 20 cars waiting. The Canes were pumped for this game. One guy next to our tailgate invited me to their tailgate. Turns out, he grew up in Alexandria and went to Miami. We talked about the Miami thug persona. He shrugged it off as all teams have fans who are impolite or embarrassing.

We stayed in Bal Harbour/Surfside near my nephew, a two minute walk from the beach. We'd go back anytime.

BTW, we learned the locals call the school UM. 'Miami is the city.'
