Wow. That's a lot. I was at VT during the Metro years. (Rant)

It provided some good games and Cassell really rocked when Louisville and Memphis State came to town. But, even through the good, everyone felt like second class citizens to Louisville. They controlled the conference. They got a larger share of the revenues. They wielded their power like a dictator. It is exactly why the Big12 with Texas is on shakey ground. When one team dominates everyone else through the conference by-laws and financial share then there is no real unity and "conference". It creates a culture of no-loyalty. It's what was wrong with the Big East Football Conference. Some schools got more money than others. Louisville as an institution has demonstrated over and over that it's culture is to think only about itself and have no respect for any other institution, whether that be school, conference, or NCAA. The ACC was founded on the opposite approach, that revenue sharing is equal, and institutions have equal power. It's why we are "home" in the ACC. While we all want to crush UVA over and over, to put Miami "back" where they belong in the gutter, and compete and win against everyone we respect the schools in the ACC as peers. This is a shared culture by all of the ACC schools except for Louisville. It's always about them, and they don't care what it takes to "win". The institution is as dirty and foul as any in major college sports.
