That problem can exist just as easily with hard tickets too


If someone sells you a physical ticket they could theoretically have also sold that ticket on a third party site by entering the barcode from the ticket.

Most third-party sites (StubHub, etc) offer a guarantee to protect you from that situation (and heavily penalize a seller if they do it). Anecdotally, I've never had any issues with this. I'm sure it happens some small percentage of the time though, so if it's of concern, buying directly from a Hokie whose identity you can verify should put that risk very close to 0.
