80's response is fairly typical around here. Denying that race plays a role in all interactions between police and black men is either willfully ignorant or grossly naive. It is really easy for a group of middle-aged, college educated white dudes to dismiss the situation.

All that said, I think police mostly get it right, that many are exploiting events for their own gain, and bad actors are eventually revealed.
