This is a good idea unless you have an in-law with bad knees with you...


I nearly killed my father-in-law walking the monuments, whitehouse, and American History Museum. It's a mile from the Capitol to the Washington Monument and another mile from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial. You can plan a lot of walking without really realizing it.
