It seems..

Like it's hard to run misdirection and traps because it's hard to diagnose where the pressure is coming from (presnap). To me, the Achilles heel are the guys in the middle. The DT and the Mike. When we have had a space eater in the middle (Lynch, Dykes, Nield, Howard) that can take on multiple blockers and make plays along with a Mike that is a mobile, sure tackler, we have been pretty good. Regardless of who is up front, a good ol fashioned north/south ground and pound will wear it down and kill it. Especially in the years when we had zero depth. That is probably the best thing Holgorsen has done, is truly build a little quality depth across the board that we never had here. When you watch our 3-3-5 it will feel like we blitz 95%, it's only like 46% (number from last season). I got the opportunity to talk to DC Gibson during the off-season at a fundraiser, great guy, southern WV born and raised, this rivalry means a lot to him and he's nearly the only guy on our staff who has experienced it before, but I asked him what dictates how much he dials the blitz, he said if he has quality corners, he will blitz nearly every play and doesn't care to keep them in man with little to no help. That the past several years he has had Darryl Worley (Panthers starter) and Rasul Douglas (possible Eagles srarter) that when you have guys like that you have a lot of freedom. Going into this season he isn't sure what he has and what he will be able to do and if he can put his guys in the situations he put Worley and Douglas in.
