VTECHFAN, I just don't know what to say to you. The algorithms are how they set the opening line. Figuring out how to get equal action is simple and it has nothing to do with an algorithm. Just continue to move the line until the action on the dog increases to make it even. An algorithm isn't needed.

I can assure you serious bettors don't have anywhere near the algorithm the houses in Vegas have if they have anything at all. The houses have data from millions and millions of bettors. They have numerous statisticians on staff. Hell, they probably have psychologists on staff. How do you think they built "B"illion dollar gaming houses?

I was in the Air Force while I was there. Everyone wanted to tell you about their "sure fire" betting strategies. There was a guy in our unit who had 4 or 5 books 5 inches thick with every stat under the sun. He could tell you how many yards a running back averaged on turf and grass, rain or shine, shoes tied or not. He couldn't win a 3 card parlay. I also talked with regular bettors who explained all this to me and observation showed who was right. The statute of limitations is probably up so I can tell you a bettor from Florida paid me regularly to connect a three way call to the casinos so he could place bets which were illegal from out of state but on a three way call looked like they were coming from my apartment in Vegas. He and I talked many times and he explained all this to me. Just by the way, I bought a car, an MG on what he paid me. When I left I passed his deal to another AF guy as it was passed to me.

I have no vested interest in "winning" this debate. That you would suggest I was disagreeing just to disagree is absurd, shows how little you know despite my best efforts to explain it to you, and is offensive.
