Can somebody explain the Charlie Gard situation to me?


I'm trying to wrap my head around this. Why does the government, medical establishment, and court system in Britain seem intent on making sure this baby dies? What can they possibly stand to lose by letting the family get the help that has been offered abroad? I'm sure I'm missing something?
