I was thinking just that, they were going to explain how they buried the true stories of the south and blame somebody when the developers and most of the residents are snowbirds from the North. The author doesn't distinctly dissuade one from the notion that this isn't a Southern thing, and throws in the word "confederate" for red herring effect.

Found a site that is free, though, the fake history stuff is kind of fun, I think I would be good at that.
