News this morning said the freighter passed the destroyer, then made

a U-turn and doubled back, striking the destroyer. No word on why it made a U-turn. And I'd think the destroyer would still be able to track it. They showed a graphic of the U-turn, with the destroyer appearing to be stationary; but I wouldn't count on that being accurate.
