You don't want to get caught up there 3 songs in with a full bladder -- it won't be easy getting out and will be impossible to get back in, although some jerks will try it. Like others here, I stopped fighting for the front when I reached my 30's. Now I'd rather stand near the back with easy access to the bar. I like the soundboard idea below too.
