I was on dialysis for 4 years and have been blessed to be still going strong 27 years after my transplant. I was going to be the first patient to receive a kidney from a living non related donor at Duke Hospital. The night before taking me off the donor list I received my 4th call from Duke this as the primary not as a backup. Again good luck to both.
