My guess is none. And that will mean Notre Dame will have gone 48 years since its last national championship.

My guess is that nearly all of the national championships to be won between now and 2036 will come from a pool that consists of Alabama, Florida, LSU, Florida State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas and maybe a few strays from the likes of Georgia, Michigan, Penn State and one or two other SEC schools.

Some Pac 12 school, probably USC, will find a way to win one. A couple schools not ordinarily thought to be elite (like Clemson and Auburn in the somewhat recent past) will win one.

ND will probably make the playoff two or three times. But it will not win a championship because it just doesn't have comparable talent anymore and is not well equipped to change that situation.
