Depends on whether they are wrestle at, or about their ideal weight


Some guys wrestle above their ideal weight to get better competition. A cut then is no big deal. But a guy like Degen, who was a stick figure at 141, cutting eaven 3-4 pounds could be too much.

That said, the answer is that it's usually easier to put on weight than to cut, particuarly when you are already an an ideal weight.

Body type enters into it, too. An ectomorph may never be able to put on weight/muscle, while mesomorphs and endomorphs can do so easily.
