When you're on top, the time starts counting up in your favor. When he's on top, it counts in his favor...so, if you had 30 seconds of riding time and choose bottom, your 30 seconds starts counting down until you escape (or reverse). If it gets to zero, it then stats counting up for him if he's still on top.

If, at the end of the match your riding time is 60 seconds or more (meaning you were in control of him for 60 or more seconds more than he was you) then you get one point at the end of the match added to your score.

I'm sure that could have been explained more simply :-D
