WW2 peeps: ... how close were hitler and the nazi S-heads to the A-bomb?


So, still watching Hunting hitler, and just finished their A-bomb making
pipe-dream one down on a lake in Argentinian in the late 40's to early
50's when/where adolph (allegedly) was trying to nuke ...Manhattan.

Though ya' vol, jerry did have an Atomic Weapons program.
And from what I've read watched in over four decades they were...

1. well ahead of us/USA and the Allies overall, in the late 30's and early 40's.

2. until the Norwegian ski-commandos blew their heavy-water capture
place up and sunk all the heavy-H20 carrying ships.

3. jerry did have (something) of a primitive nuclear pile, maybe even
the makings of a so-called: dirty bomb, although pretty well let go the
Atomic rope after their heavy-H20 project got sacked.

Correct?

I mean, they were ahead, at first, and maybe the nazi freaks could
have beaten us --had they stayed and pushed that Atomic course.
Maybe?
