Weaver made a very generous offer to the wrestlers


Basically he didn't want to cancel the program, so he told the wrestlers if they would stick around and wrestle one year, they would be granted a full release to go anywhere (Iowa) they wished. Basically he wanted to keep them around until the next coach could recruit replacements. Basically they could wrestle a year at VT, or sit a year at Iowa...their choice

Can't remember if any took him up on his offer.
