Spent the last two days on jury duty in Loudoun County

Ugh talk about sobering and depressing. That was the first time I have been empaneled and I have no wish to do it again soon. Amazing how 12 perfect strangers can come together though - our system has plenty of flaws but at the heart of it, it is really cool. Won't get into the details of the case on a public forum but I will say we came to a guilty verdict in less than 90 minutes. Agreeing on sentencing took three times that long.

Hug your loved ones my friends.

Edit - yes, dead people can both vote AND serve on juries. Who knew?
