then you can find out what services/rentals/etc are available.

Isaac Walton League is widespread, but requires membership; and I doubt they have rentals etc.

You probably want a "Guntry Club" indoor range - Blue Ridge and Silver Eagle both have lots of rental options etc. I think the Manassas range does, but I've not been so I can't speak authoritatively on them. Very few ranges don't have some sort of rental/demo firearm available for newcomers/non-owners.
