So, my next door neighbor passed away this morning.


Fire trucks and ambulance came screaming into our cul-de-sac at 8:30 this morning. Cops arrived a few minutes later and the paramedics departed. He had been sick, but went downhill quickly so this is still somewhat of a surprise given he was in his 40s.

We didn't know the family well in that we'd say hi and chat when I'd see him outside, but we did not socialize or anything. He left behind his wife and two middle school-aged kids.

I feel like we need to do something, but I have no idea what. As in, we live right freaking next to them so we need to meaningfully convey our condolences without getting in their business. Any thoughts? Flaming bags of dog poo our not appropriate at this time.
