I'm re-reading the first "Bloom County" book - "Loose Tails"


probably comics from 1982 give or take. One of the Sunday strips has a guy on a bench waiting for a bus say to Opus (early, with smaller nose) "You know, you penguin types offend me"

Then another person pipes in "I'm offended that you're offended" and another pipes in that scantily clad women offend her, and another with "Polish jokes offend me" and it just keeps going from there until all of them gasp "Life IS Offensive!!!" and dash off in different directions.

So that was....let's see....carry the 2....34 or so years ago, and there was discussion about Political Correctness, and being too easily offended and so on. Not much different from now.
