Julian Green is a forward whose best position is as a wing with 3 up top.
That's not going to happen with Altidore and Wood as our best pairing up top. I've been railing against Klinny's mangled lineups for years and he demonstrated lack of tactical acumen against Mexico. Even Bradley knew the formation needed to change.
JK seems to have lost the team vs CR. This happened previously but the team overcame JK in the past. I had hoped that the US would have signed Mourinho or Martinez a year ago, but they are tied to contracts now.
Klinsmann's other weakness, besides constantly jockeying of unfamiliar formations, is favoritism toward players who constantly underperform, i.e. Wondo, Chandler, Gonzalez. I've defended Bradley in the past because he was the best we had at that position, but he has strung together a series of uninspired performances.
The USA still have a path to the WC, but that will take new leadership immediately. If we fail, time to clean house and get the promising youngsters in the lineup.
