A good friend had a son who was a good tennis player. He got a scholarship at Wofford but I recall his Dad saying that if he had saved all of the money he spent sending him to camps, playing in tournaments and paying for all of the travel he could have paid for the college education and had $$ left over. The year round competition gets expensive and I sometimes wonder if kids who might be good players don't get burned out because they start so early.
