I think defense took a big hit with injury and re-injury to Goudy but with insertion of Johnston got some much needed size and speed. Other than Virginia and bad game against Duke, I think we have held our own on the field but are terribly deficient in ability to score. Ball moves around, is crossed, shot and often stays long periods of time in the scoring end only to give up a long ball or breakdown on defense for a backbreaking score. We completely controlled much of play against last 3 opponents but simply could not put in scores and ultimately kept them in games. This team will most likely take a precipitous drop next year with loss of Tiernan and Cephers who have accounted for major amount of scoring and field control last 4 years. At some point coaching has to be brought into question as we have gone from Final 4 to Sweet 16 to round of 32 and now possibly missing the tournament in just four years. Wrong direction when recent success should have meant ability to recruit at higher level
