If he wants it to work thru the car he'll need that stuff. If he wants to


buy a portable unit and run it off his cigarette lighter with an antenna magnetically stuck to his roof, that clips on his air vents, he can probably get away with about $30. XM sells those. I don't believe the $10 thingamajig you linked will work. I'm pretty sure he wants the factory experience.
