In the 90s but never had to register for the selective service.


Looking at the numbers for the first time in forever, I probably had mine pegged for the wrong time figuring it was when I graduated from high school early 70s. Looking at the chart, I figure it was the year you graduated from high school, really selected the following year in March and declared for the draft the year after that. They were pretty much not taking anybody as the war wound down and for a few years they stopped the draft and you were not required to even register. Mandatory registration was reinstated under Jimmy Carter in 1980.

It was a game you played for a few years before it really mattered: what's your draft number?
