If the ACC were to take all 8, then it could increase

the number of sports it sponsor. If the ACC sponsors more sports, then it increases the amount of content it can provide on the ACCN. Plus, I see the Ivy League as a package deal. Heck you probably could even call them the 'Eight Musketeers' because they are "all for one and one for all."
