Try to imgine a conference where everybody finishes first or second, and nobody, nobody ever finishes last. Pointing the finger at Rutgers & Maryland is easy (and perhaps fun) for B1G traditionalists. They didn't want expansion unless they could have ND, Alabama and Oklahoma. Ascendency in conference heirarchy is difficult these days. The B1G newbies will have long uphill slog. But calling those additions a mistakes or suggesting that they dimiinish the B1G somehow is fantasy. Reestuart is correct to point out that the B1G is simply reaching out to its respective alums in NYC & DC. It's a sound move for cable box revenue, ticket sales and TV viewer ratings.
