If the birds came in the vent on the side of the house and you have a bath fan they should be stuck in the venting and not in the house but the vent pipe between the fan and outside. I had this happen before and we used the clothes dryer vent tool that you put on the end of a drill to clean out the lint in the vent. I know it sounds terrible to do but we were able to get the dead bird and nest out to stop the stink.
