FWIW Fred Smith (FedEx Chairman) isn't a Memphis Alumnus


He went to Yale. Memphis is just home and he thinks this benefits the entire Memphis area. He didn't go to Ole Miss either, but FedEx has given generously to Ole Miss. Lots of Ole Miss and Memphis alums work at FedEx. Plus, Memphis is pretty much the city's team (the way UCF and USF try to portray themselves, except no one in Orlando or Tampa cares about them).
