Kinda my vote too but maybe a nursury planting close to the house?


We've got plenty of American Beeches near where I live, and they're just have a different look to them eg, open w/ horizontal branches, the bark looks similar though. Just thinking with this tree so close to the house that maybe it was an exotic put there, European beech (?) kinda has that shaggier look but, I dunno.
