A great individual talent who, IMO, didn't always 'improve the players


around him'

I remember saying to some friends of mine (Rochester, NY) that I thought SU would be better after Pearl graduated.

Last year with Pearl - lost to that David Robinson Navy team.
First year without him - made NCAA final, losing to Indiana on Keith Smart shot.

Although I was very surprised that his pro career was so short and without much fanfare or success.
